Madol, Anabolic Steroid

Madol, also known as DMT(desoxymethyltestosterone) is a potent synthetic oral anabolic steroid.

First described in 1963, only limited investigations were carried out in animals and the steroid never found its way to being a commercial prescription product. After this, it was shelved and all but forgotten about until recently.

In 2005 the steroid found its way onto the Sports Nutritional shelves as a ‘designer steroid.’ Launched under the brand name EurgoMax LMG, it fell into a grey area of the law. Clearly a synthetic compound, this ’designer steroid’ is illegal to sell and the FDA acknowledged  its presence in the market place and claimed they were investigating this issue and planning to take action. This resulted in the voluntary withdrawal of the product and now designer steroids for sale like these are scarcely available.

The steroid has been reported to be more potent that methyltestosterone in its anabolic activity, without increasing androgenicity to the same extent. Side effects like acne and hair growth are certainly possible, proving that these designer steroids do carry androgenic effects. Also, liver toxicity can be a problem so cycles should not exceed 6-8weeks.

Now that the FDA has acknowledged these drugs in the market place, all sporting bodies have been made aware of the drug and how to test its use in competitive sports.
