Danocrine, Anabolic Steroid

Danazol is the chemical name for a synthetic androgen derived from ethisterone. Although steroidal in structure, danazol is actually classed as an anti-gonadotropin agent which its main function is to suppress the release of LH and FSH.

Danazol is used clinically to treat certain hormone related disorders, not build muscle. In fact, this steroid like androgen actually offers no real muscle or strength gains when taken alongside heavy training. The anabolic activity of this drug is so minute that it offers no benefits to athletes looking for performance enhancing drugs.

It has been used alongside steroid cycles to maintain active testes but was never listed as a controlled substance due to the fact that it is not likely to be abused by athletes. Modern applications for the drug include endometriosis, fibrocystic breast disease and hereditary angiodema.

This drug has been replaced in many of its intended uses in recent years due to the amount of new and better suited medications. It remains on sale in the United States and is a legal steroid due to its low anabolic nature.
