Testopel, Anabolic Steroid

Testopel is a testosterone delivery system comprised of small cylindrical pellets of pressed testosterone. This method of delivery was brought into commerce soon after it was realised that oral testosterone was deemed impractical due to the first pass metabolism.

Users needing synthetic testosterone were often scared off the use of steroids due to the common injections needed to provide adequate hormone levels. Oral tablets were not deemed suitable due to liver toxicity and so pellets were developed by Bator Parmacal.

The pellets are implanted subcutaneously, and provide the patient with a sustained and continuous release of hormone for several months. This avoids weekly injections and can makes hormone delivery almost unnoticeable in the patient. The only main negative being that the patient must undergo minor surgery twice a year to implant the pellets.

This method of delivery is usually not well accepted by bodybuilders as much better results can be achieved through inject able preparations. To achieve appropriate levels of steroid to promote muscle growth, around 16-18 pellets would need to be implanted under the skin, which is to much surgery to justify its use.

This type of steroid steroid is not generally traded on the black market due to the impractical nature of administration. This can be found as a legal steroid to treat androgen deficiency and to fight against tumour related conditions.
