Steroid Lotion Seized by Police

When we talk about steroids, most people tend to think of muscle-hunched bodybuilders injecting themselves to get bigger and stronger. But, steroids also have other uses of a medical nature such as the treatment of certain skin conditions like eczema.

These sort of treatments are generally only available with a doctors prescription as there can be potential side effects with the use of such creams. If administered for a long period, side effects like thinning of the skin and stretch marks can present themselves in the user.

In May of this year, police raided a flat in East London where they seized thousands of pounds worth of steroid lotion. This can be classified as a type of steroid.

It has been found that steroid creams do work and are considered safe by experts, the cream that was seized, called Osas, did not require a prescription on purchase and it even claimed to contain all ‘natural ingredients’.

This poses serious risk to the users considering that it was used on children without parents knowledge over the steroidal content.

Mark Deats, the head of enforcement and intelligence at the MHRA (The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulation Agency) stated that any person who is or was using this product should stop right away and consult their doctor if they have any further concerns.
